A charging point is increasingly part of the building, parking area and user experience. For this reason the wallbox, its support, cable route and surrounding protection should be considered together rather than as unrelated elements added at the end.

Outdoor installation starts with the wallbox requirements

The wallbox manufacturer’s instructions, IP rating, ventilation, maintenance spaces and electrical protections remain the reference. A VoltaCover structure does not change these characteristics and does not make the wallbox waterproof. Depending on the installation, it can reduce direct exposure of exposed parts to sun, driving rain, dirt and deposits while helping organise the charging point.

The support is part of the project

In a freestanding installation, the structure is not simply a pole. Fixing or foundation, cable entry, maintenance access, wallbox position, user ergonomics and the relationship with paving, façade and parking layout all affect the final result. These aspects must be defined according to the site, with the electrical configuration handled by qualified professionals.

Cable management matters

A good installation should allow the user to connect and disconnect the vehicle comfortably without forcing the cable around the structure or blocking controls and service areas. Cable entry, bending radius, connector movement and access for future maintenance should be checked before the structure is selected.
