Already using an ABB Terra AC, or planning a new charging point? This page connects the ABB family with VoltaCover solutions for supplementary protection, cable management and freestanding installation. First identify the generation, variant and actual installed dimensions.
Key point: Terra AC and Terra AC 2.0 have very similar housings, but they are different generations. ABB states IP54 for Terra AC and IP55 for Terra AC 2.0. A cover must therefore be checked against the unit actually installed, not just the ABB name.

If the ABB wallbox is already wall-mounted
VoltaCover can also be added after installation. A supplementary cover may help shield direct exposure, dirt and weather. In wetter and colder areas consider rain, frost and winter deposits; in warmer regions consider direct sun and heat. It does not change the wallbox IP rating or replace ABB requirements.
When the cable also needs organising
With a fixed-cable variant, fit and use also depend on cable routing and bend radius. Crystal Shell 360 adds manual cable storage and plug holder; Cover Plus provides a rear technical space. Controls, connector and service access must remain available.
When no suitable wall is available
For car parks, businesses, hospitality and outdoor charging points, consider Stand, Vela or Station 360. These are independent VoltaCover solutions; pairing with a specific ABB variant must be confirmed before ordering.
Check before buying
- front and side photos of the wallbox
- exact model label or product code
- actual dimensions and clearance above, beside and in front
- socket or fixed-cable version and cable route
- access to display, RFID, doors and servicing
- wall, foundation and installer requirements
For the original Terra AC, ABB's manual specifies installation clearances, including more than 200 mm above the unit. Do not automatically transfer those values to Terra AC 2.0: follow the manual for the specific generation and the installer's design.
